Walking on Air: Powering Hyperice x Nike’s Hyperboot Launch

Overview

Following a high-profile preview at the Paris Olympic Games, performance technology leader Hyperice partnered with Nike to commercially launch the Hyperboot, a groundbreaking shoe fusing Normatec dynamic air compression and Venom thermal technology into a singular, cord-free wearable.

‍

Despite the star-studded debut, the team faced a distinct challenge. While the Hyperboot was highly coveted by the world’s most elite athletes, Jack Taylor was tasked with building a narrative that translated this elite utility into a mainstream consumer necessity. We needed to prove that recovery footwear wasn't just a luxury for Olympians, but a game-changer for everyday fitness enthusiasts.

‍

How We Helped

Jack Taylor developed a multi-phased go-to-market strategy designed to transition the Hyperboot from a hype-driven sneaker drop into a category-defining wellness launch. The team kicked off the execution with a strict media embargo strategy, seeding advanced review units to over 30 leading tech, sneaker, and fitness editors to build early credibility. To anchor the commercial launch, we helped produce an exclusive media and industry event in New York City, hosting over 100 top-tier attendees across the sports, footwear, and lifestyle spaces.

‍

While the launch leveraged the cultural clout of Nike, our media strategy focused heavily on reinforcing Hyperice’s position as a preeminent innovator. We utilized the rare nature of this external Nike partnership to open up entirely net-new media verticals, amplifying both brands' unified mission of putting athletes’ needs at the forefront while opening the path to be the authoritative voice in a new emerging category: recovery technology footwear and apparel for a mass consumer audience.
